American Diorama Mijo Exclusive 1:64 general figures

I decided to do a photo reference list of American Diorama Mijo Exclusive figure sets that relate to a general theme. By general, I mean figures at the beach, people at food carts, and so forth. This is a grouping of what I would call background figures. Since these sets are limited edition runs and are only available at specialized hobby stores or online retailers, it may be difficult to find out-of-production figure sets. The photos link to an Amazon.com search. From shopping around, I’ve found Amazon.com usually has the widest range of available sets as well as a lower shipping cost.

This is an incomplete list of Mijo Exclusive figure sets with a general theme. The listing is mainly figure sets I’m looking for or figure sets that I’ve purchased. I only included sets I could find photos for. In the case I own one of the sets, I’ll include a brief description of my impressions of that product as well as any other relevant information. I’ll update this page from time-to-time to include new releases.

Patriot Girls: I picked up this set because sexy women usually pair well with hot cars. I have several photographer figures I ordered from Double G Diecast, so I had planned to use these figures along with those photographers. But, to be honest this set is not very well painted. For the most part, the figures are all free standing, so there was no need to base them. However, the figure on the left in the illustration above is in a really awkward pose and just falls over whenever I try to place it. These figures will do well if placed in the background of photos. However, the paint job is a far cry from the quality of the Liberty Walk sets.

Metro Girls: I’ve been looking for this set for a while. I just like the poses of the figures. They’d do well as background actors to really fill out a photo and give it a more realistic appearance.

Cosplay Otaku: This is really a situational set of figures. There were a couple of JDM cars from the 2025 mainline series (a Datsun 240Z and a Custom Kia EV6) I may do a simple custom wheel swap on and do some cosmetic detailing on that have similar theme as this set set.

I had a lot of trouble finding this set on Amazon.com, but I ended up finding it on eBay. The figures are all painted fairly well, but not quite as well as the Liberty Walk sets. Overall, though, the painting is on the high end of the quality spectrum for the Mijo Exclusives. The four standing figures really don’t balance well on their own and needed some type of support in order to remain stable. The pack includes a sheet of two-sided white adhesive dots, but those don’t look very appealing when photographed. I prefer to use a tiny circle of clear plastic and super glue it to the figure’s feet. Clear plastic tends to be a lot more stable and can be cloned out a lot easier in your preferred image processing program.
