New logo for Boondock Bight

I’ve been working on a new logo for Boondock Bight for a while now. It ended up being difficult to come up with something simple, but identifiable enough for my brand to be recognizable from a tiny social media icon.

Over the last year, I’ve really focused my modeling around 1:64 scale cars. I wanted my new logo to reflect that focus as well as have a slightly retro look. I found a color pallet I liked and was able to find a non-descript car on a clip art service. I don’t have a lot of talent when it comes to drawing, so the clip art saved me a lot of development time on the logo.

I went ahead and rebranded my Instagram account with the logo today, so I’ve got the ball on the field in that department.

Instagram is where I’m focusing my social media efforts right now. I’m currently working on developing some stock video for Instagram reels as well as some photo templates for my Instagram posts. I’m playing around with some different ways to brand my photos, but I’m leaning towards dropping the car from the logo for photo branding.

I’ve also done a little work under the hood on the blog to fill in some missing content. Over the next couple of weeks, I plan to have my rebranding complete on Instagram. One of the things I’m really excited about is what I’m calling a “10-Swipe Tutorial.”

The basic format for the “10-Swipe Tutorial” is a post with 10 photos showing how to scratch build some simple details for dioramas, scatter terrain or 1:64 scale car detail parts. The first photo is a “Cover Shot” followed by eight photos depicting the materials and details for building the tutorial. The last photo will be a promo page back to my Instagram profile page as well as a promo for BoondockBight.com.
