The No. 8 Car

This was a Christmas ornament I found in a pile of junk while cleaning around an old shed. The ornament was still in the original packaging. But, the packaging had suffered the effects of the weather for who knows how long. The ornament was still inside plastic, so the car and base was still in great shape. However, it looks like the NASCA logo has faded somewhat.

The Junior Christmas Ornament

I was cleaning up around a shed on my mother’s property and found an old NASCAR Christmas ornament. I’m not sure where it came from. My mother has never watched a NASCAR race in her life and I doubt she could recognize Dale Earnhardt Jr. if he delivered her a winning check from Publisher’s Clearing House.

Nevertheless, I found the ornament still in its original packaging. But, the cardboard packaging had been out in the weather so long it was pretty much destroyed. The ornament was still encased in plastic, so it was in pretty good shape.

I removed the eye-hook on the top and did a little cleanup work on the ornament. I’m planning to use it as a special occasion display in Ace’s Garage in my Whiskey River Project diorama.
